Monthly Water Rates
For the first 1,000 gallons of water consumption per month, or portion thereof:
$10.00 (Minimum)

For all water consumption in excess of 1,000 gallons per month, or portion thereof:
$2.75 per 1,000 gallons

The water user charge for direct customers located outside the city limits of Magnolia will be charged twice (2 times) the rates charged for the inside city rates listed above.

Minimum Monthly Charges

Each customer shall pay a minimum monthly water charge based on the rate structure, the size of the water meter, and location of meter as follows:

Meter Size
Water Use Minimum
1,000 gallons
7,000 gallons
1” Residential
7,000 gallons
10,000 gallons
1 1/2”
20,000 gallons
30,000 gallons
60,000 gallons
100,000 gallons
200,000 gallons
400,000 gallons

If a customer uses less than the minimum consumption, they will still be billed the rate based on their meter size.

Irrigation Meter

Any customer using water for the purposes of irrigation or sprinkling, or both, may, at their own expense have the Utility install a separate service for water that doesn’t reach the wastewater system. This water will be billed at the same rate as for domestic use but will not be billed a wastewater charge.

Sewer Averaging on Residential Meters

The monthly wastewater charge for each residential customer for the months of June, July, August, and September shall be determined by the monthly average of water consumption during the then preceding other months.  This may prevent the need for a customer needing a separate service for yard watering for the sole purpose of reducing the wastewater charge on the water bill.

Set-Up Fee

Anyone who request service with the Utilities shall pay a set-up fee in the amount of $75.00 for each location. The fee is collected to offset the cost of setting up the customer at that location on the Utilities records, reading the meter and connecting the service.  It is non-refundable and is charged for each location.

Disconnection for Non-Payment

Service shall be disconnected 5 business days after due date.
A $40.00 penalty will be added to the customer’s account when the cut-off list is printed.

Reconnection Fee

In the event of a disconnection, whether voluntary or involuntary, the customer shall prior to reconnection, pay all delinquent charges to reinstate service.  This charge applies most often to customers disconnected for non-payment.
